Supreme Justice opens with John Finley surviving an attack on a ship. The next chapter continues with Tom Oswald discovering the ship. That is not all he finds. There are several bodies and drugs aboard. The reader is then taken ahead in time.

Sarah Woodruff, a former cop, is on death row. She has been convicted of murdering her lover, John Finley. She has exhausted almost all means of trying to prove she did not commit this murder. Her last hope is a chance to be heard by the Supreme Court. To make matters worse, one of the Supreme Court justices retires and several interest groups try to get their candidate appointed to fill the vacancy.

Sarah is in for a difficult time trying to get her case heard by the Supreme Court because there are several secrets going on behind the scenes. In addition, the former head of the CIA is trying to prevent this from happening. What is this person trying to hide?

Will Sarah get her chance to be heard by the top court?

Supreme Justice has many different things going on in several time periods which makes for a very interesting read. The reader will be glued to the pages as events go back and forth. Even though this book is the sequel to Executive Privilege, it is not necessary to read that one first. Some of the same characters appear in both books but Supreme Justice can be read as a standalone book. Phillip Margolin is a master at telling a story and as always his characters appear very real. If you are looking for a thriller with an extraordinary plot and solid characters, Supreme Justice is the book for you.
